Good stories inspire us. Often, memorable brands are the ones that tell us a good story. This story is authentic – and human. Think back at your favourite ads – what kind of stories did they tell? Or a business you’ve worked with in the past – what kind of story did they tell you? Like their stories, your brand has one too. Here are 3 resources that I’ve found to help inspire your brand’s storytelling experience. Like one of my favourite influencers, Guy Kawasaki, I believe that brand storytelling is an art of enchantment. So here it is, let’s start enchanting.

Business Storytelling: 21 Quotes to Inspire You To Tell Your Story

Marketers are really great storytellers. But why tell a business story? This presentation by Ian Rhodes takes us through some inspiration quotes from 21 of the brightest minds.

Storytelling Is Not Just For Campfires

Storytelling really isn’t just for campfires as we’ve seen other marketers point out. A compelling brand tells engaging stories with their audience. Crafting your brand’s story should be personal and unique to your business. For some brands, it inspires action with your audience. For example, the three-minute ad of Dove Real Beauty Sketches tells Dove’s social mission to inspire a “world where beauty is the source of confidence. Not anxiety.” The story has been a part of their social mission since 2004. The Real Beauty Sketches video was so successful that it has become the most watched video of all time on Youtube.

Storytelling One Frame At A Time

These numbers tell the story of why the best ways to tell a brand’s story is to be visual. Some of the best stories shared in social media today aren’t text – but visuals like infographics, memes, videos and images. Next time you have numbers to present, use an image or compelling infographic to get your point across.

On Facebook alone, photos and videos are the most engaging pieces of content. Videos are shared 12 times more than photos. Social media websites and apps have been developed in the last year with the changing landscape. For example, the launch of Instagram’s Android app grew it’s user base by 10 million users in just 10 days. An astonishing numbers for brands looking to increase their engagement.
